The reason that the twelve volt system can put out more than twenty five percent more energy for what it is rated is because the solar energy is unreliable because you cannot control the circumstances in which you will gather the electricity. The system is actually rated in ideal conditions so if there is more direct sunlight than is required, it can mean that the volts that are being released are higher than what it was rated for. Similarly, if the conditions are less than ideal, the voltage that is being released can be less than the twelve volts for which it is rated. This is why employing the use of a solar panel charge controller is something that can help to make sure that there are no accidents which can cause permanent damage to your appliance’s batteries.

The solar panel charge controller works by taking the voltage that is being put out by the solar panel and bringing it down to a range that the appliance can accept safely. This works to make it easier for you to rely on solar power without having to constantly worry that the sunlight is going to cause damage to your property. After all, if it is needed on a regulated electrical output system, then it is surely needed on one that relies on solar energy.
